The University of Bordeaux and GREThA are proud to host of the 2017 Annual Conference of EPIP (European Policy for Intellectual Property).

The conference will open up in the late afternoon of Monday, September 4, and ends in the early afternoon of Wednesday, September 6. It will bring together scholars, stakeholders and policy-makers for both theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented presentations and discussions. It will preceded by a morning PhD workshop on the economics and law of patent processing (on September 4).

The plenary sessions and several paper sessions will be dedicated to the leading theme of the conference, namely the geography of intellectual property, along three lines of enquiry:

  • The globalisation of inventive activities and the role of IP.
  • The geographical evolution of cyber-space
  • The law and economics of geographical indications and traditional knowledge.

Still, the call for papers will be open to all themes concerning the economic, legal, social, political and historical aspects of intellectual property rights at national, European and international levels, as in the EPIP research tradition.
