ABOUT EPIP

EPIP : European Policy for Intellectual Property

EPIP is the leading European platform for the analysis and discussion of intellectual property systems and intangible assets. It is an international, independent, interdisciplinary, non-profit association of researchers that grew out of a network financed by the European Commission in 2003-05.

EPIP’s objectives are:

  • to encourage research on economic, legal, social, political and historical aspects of intellectual property rights at national, European and international levels;
  • to contribute ideas, concepts and discussions that will promote innovation, productivity and growth in Europe and beyond;
  • to inform and to encourage policy-oriented discussion involving political and administrative bodies and stakeholders in Europe;
  • and to cooperate with other associations with similar objectives.

The EPIP Annual conferences bring together scholars, including doctoral students, working on economics, management and law with a focus on intellectual property, along with policy-makers and stakeholders. They foster an inter-disciplinary exchange of knowledge. Sessions include contributed papers, keynote presentations and policy-focussed panel discussions. Contributions come from and invitations are sent to across the world, with an increasing Asian and BRIC’s presence.
